Escape and Survive / Common Sense Self Defense Seminar
In today's world, there is an absolute need to know how to protect yourself. But who has the time or money for lengthy training sessions, with techniques you may not even remember in a time of need - or which can wind up putting you in even more danger?
This Common Sense Self Defense for Women Seminar hosted by the Escape & Survive series will teach you effective and easy-to-remember techniques for getting out of dangerous situations. You will learn how to defend yourself without a need for complicated moves. You don't need expensive, time-consuming training. All you need is the right know-how and the proper mindset. You never know when you'll need to defend yourself, or how you would react in such a situation. Would you know how to get away, or would you be in serious danger? By the end of this seminar, you'll be able to answer those questions. Taught by Grand Master Ray Szuch, you will discover how you can escape and survive.
Ages 12 & up welcome. Attendees are paired with a partner. Come alone, or bring a family member or friend along!

Join Transformers/Harry Potter Casting Director Janet Hirshenson for a 5-hour acting intensive followed by a 1 hour Q&A with Cleveland's leading film professionals. This is your opportunity to learn from an Emmy Nominated Casting Director as well as gaining insight from film professionals in your area.
Janet has worked alongside directors Steven Spielberg, Francis Ford Coppola, Michael Bay, Ron Howard and Chris Colombus. Janet discovered the ensemble cast of Harry Potter including Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.
Before the Workshop
1. You will be emailed a selection of scenes to choose from.
2. You will then choose 1 scene that fits you best.
3. You will have 5-7 days to prepare.
In-Class Preparation:
1. Everyone will be broken into pairs and work together to shake the nerves.
2. You will first be critiqued and adjusted by coaches before reading with Janet.
3. This allows time for you to give your absolute best performance.
You'll Learn:
1. Audition technique for feature films.
2. What a casting director looks for and insider tips.
3. How to stand out on camera and GET the CALLBACK.
4. The audition, the callback, the producers session, how to approach each.
But, most important, each participant will have an individual evaluation from Janet herself.

Since 1981, Janet and her company have cast over 100 feature films, working with film legends such as Steven Spielberg. Some of her credits include the Academy Award winning A Beautiful Mind, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Something's Gotta Give, Airforce One, Jurassic Park, The American President, Apollo 13, The Lost World, A Few Good Men, Backdraft, Misery, Ghost, When Harry Met Sally, Bettlejuice, Stand By Me and Home Alone.
